Jack, a RRCA certified coach, has a long running and coaching background. As a high school athlete he won 2 state track championships as well as a state championship runner-up in cross country. Jack followed his high school success with a collegiate career at the University of Wisconsin. At Madison Jack was a 5 time All Big 10 performer and an All American on the track as well as a member of the powerful Badger cross country team. Jack was the 1981 Track and Field team captain and winner of the Walter Dieke award given to the top UW performer each year. After his graduation Jack retired from elite level competition but, along with his wife Julie continued to run recreationally. As the demands of family and career lessened Jack began a new chapter as a masters runner. Over the past decade Jack has become a national class age group runner at distances from 5K to the marathon. Along with his rebirth as a runner Jack discovered a passion for coaching and has helped dozens of runners of varied ages and experience levels to achieve their goals including multiple Boston Marathon qualifiers, a number of whom qualified in their first marathon.
